Banyuwangi - University of 17 August 1945 (Untag) Banyuwangi is a private university founded in 1980 in Banyuwangi Regency, East Java. Untag Banyuwangi manages 6 faculties, namely the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and Fisheries, and Faculty of Engineering.

Untag Banyuwangi as a higher education institution is required to be able to carry out the mandate of the 1945 Constitution, namely equitable distribution in obtaining quality higher education that is relevant to the interests of society. In addition, Untag Banyuwangi as Higher Education functions to develop abilities and shape the character and civilization of a dignified nation in order to educate the life of the nation, develop an academic community that is innovative, responsive, creative, skilled, competitive and cooperative through the implementation of the tridharma, and develops science and technology. technology by paying attention to and applying humanities values ​​as mandated in Law no. 12 of 2012 concerning Higher Education. As written in the Untag Banyuwangi statute, the vision of Untag Banyuwangi in 2045 is "Excellent Higher Education in Providing Higher Education, Based on Science and Technology and Culture and with a National Spirit". Referring to the vision of Untag Banyuwangi 2045, the development of Untag Banyuwangi in the period 2020 – 2025 is directed at achieving the vision of Untag Banyuwangi 2025, namely by 2025 "Becoming a superior learning university, based on science and technology and culture and with a national spirit".

The development of Untag Banyuwangi for the next five years is outlined in the 2020 – 2025 Strategic Plan (Renstra) which is based on the formulation of the vision, mission and goals of Untag Banyuwangi. The Banyuwangi Untag Strategic Plan 2020 – 2025 refers to the Banyuwangi Untag Development Master Plan (RIP) for 2020 – 2045 towards an Entrepreneural University. Based on the formulation of the vision as a university providing higher education, this means that Untag Banyuwangi must continue to prioritize the quality of providing education, research and community service that can surpass SNPT. Untag Banyuwangi also implements the Higher Education Program (Untag Banyuwangi) to achieve the specified minimum standards for Higher Education (Untag Banyuwangi), where the aspects of Education, Research and Community Service are each designed to work in synergy and contribute to strengthening each other's roles. The policy direction of Untag Banyuwangi is implemented by synergizing existing resources in Untag Banyuwangi, implemented on a priority scale, systematic, programmed and sustainable phasing, as well as a network of mutually beneficial partnerships. The Banyuwangi Untag policy strategy is as follows:

1) Develop and improve the quality of the curriculum and learning processes based on local uniqueness.
2) Improving the quality of facilities and infrastructure to support tridharma activities.
3) Institutional arrangement is one of the main performance indicators of superior universities.
4) Increasing research results to support the learning process. Research result standards are the minimum criteria regarding the quality of research results.
5) Increasing the quality of community service.

The higher education curriculum is a program to produce graduates, so the program should guarantee that graduates have qualifications equivalent to the qualifications agreed in the KKNI. Meanwhile, in the National Higher Education Standards (SN-Dikti), the formulation of graduate learning outcomes is included in one of the standards, namely the Graduate Competency Standards (SKL). Currently, curriculum development must also refer to the Independent Learning - Independent Campus Policy in accordance with Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 3 of 2020 concerning National Higher Education Standards.
